What To Have For Your Motor Sport Vehicle When Traveling Long Distances

It will pay big dividends and make your life much easier by heeding these simple ides when traveling long distances with a motor sport vehicle in tow. There are of course dozens of wonderful place to visit in the United States where you can take a dirt bike, utilty vehicle, all terrain vehicle or off road go kart for some sightseeing and for fun. For those of us who can enjoy places that are close to home you may be able to get away with out these necessities. However for most of us having the following items will make life easier and much more enjoyable. It would be great if we had a trailer to haul our vehicles in or a truck with a bed to put them in but not all of us have thsi luxury. So here is where renting these items comes in handy. Also if you plan to do this several times a year it would be wise to buy a ramp for loading and unloading, tie downs to keep your vehicle safe while on the road traveling to your destination and a cover to keep it clean and out of the danger of encountering bad weather.

Now you might think that it is very costly to buy thes items. This is not necessarily so if you shop around. You can find good quality products in these categories at reasonable prices. Plan on spending no more than about $350.00 to $850.00 at the most for all three items, a ramp, cover and tie downs. This will be a good investment and will save you time and stress when you travel. By the way, as a resident of Orange County, California, I can honestly say there are literally hundreds of incredible places to ride, both on and off road. You will never be able to visit everything but it's fun trying.

I hope this information was helpful and have fun on your journeys wherever they take you.

Some Facts, Fun and Money Saving Tips About Scooter BIkes

Scooter Bikes have been around since the early 1900's and originated in Asia,France and Italy. Most people when they think of scooter bikes don't realize how far they have come in regards to durability, safety and range of speed. Scooter bikes not only have improved dramatically as to their safety but can travel up to speeds in excess of 75 miles per hour and carry a passenger easily. They can handle 300 to 400 lbs in weight for most scooter bikes and will range as far as engine size and accessories. If you are concerned about maintaining scooter bikes you can rest assured that they are fairly easy to maintain as long as you do not neglect them and follow the service recommendations in the manual that comes with these scooter bikes. Scooter bikes will vary as far as cubic centimeters for engine size from 49cc to 250cc and even higher. Obviously the higher the cubic centimeters the more power these scooter bikes will have and the faster they will be able to go. Make sure when you look at an array of scooter bikes that you are aware of what you plan to use it for and how much you can afford to spend. For instance if you plan on riding on the freeway or highway at speeds of 55 or 60 miles per hour you will need at least a 150cc engine. Scooter bikes will also range as far as price as well. You will find that you can spend as little as around $850 all the way up to literally thousands of dollars. Keep in mind that you should be able to find excellent high quality scooter bikes for under $2500. I mean scooter bikes that will go 75 mph and have an engine size of 250cc. You will find that some scooter bikes will also be equipped with automatic transmissions for those who are afraid of learning how to properly use a manual clutch. Although a manual clutch will probably give you a little better performance they are not for everybody. Also keep in mind that a lot of scooter bikes will come with additional accessories such as a cargo pack that is situated behind the passenger rider to carry your necessities when needed.Scooter bikes serve one additional purpose in that they can save you a ton of money when it comes to fuel costs. How would you like to get 120 miles to a gallon of gas as opposed to say 15 to 25 miles per gallon in an automoblie? Think about how much scooter bikes can save you. If you get 120 miles to a gallon as opposed to 20 you will save almost $85 for every 1000 miles you drive. One last comment in regards to safety. Although several states do not require the use of a D.O.T. approved motorcycle helmet it is highly recommended that you and your passenger wear one at all times when riding scooter bikes or any other motor sport vehicles.

As a side note, if you are ever in Orange County, California, take your scooter down to their local beaches for an afternoon of great scenery and riding through cities like San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, San Clemente, Laguna Beach, Corona Del Mar, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Long Beach and more. You will have a wonderful time.

Go Karts Are Not Just For The Asphalt

Off road go karts are becoming increasingly more popular as they provide a higher degree of safety and are usually designed to carry 2 to 4 passengers. Most people when they think of a go kart picture a vehicle very low to the ground that races on an oval asphalt track with room for only one rider. This is typical but there is another breed of go karts used on the off road. These vehicles actually have much higher ground clearance for traveling over rough terrain. They also are equipped usually with a safety cage and in some cases an additional roll bar. The tires are much different as they are designed to travel over very rugged ground and are much larger and beefier than a street go kart tire. Models will typically come in 2 or 4 wheel drive. You will find that off road go karts will range in engine size as well, from 90cc all the way up to 1100cc. In addition you will see that several models also are equipped with a wench in the event you get in a situation where you need to be towed out of a tight spot. Several models also come with reverse which can come in handy when there is no way out but to back up.

Off road go karts are designed for children and adults alike and make for a great experience for those who love the outdoors and enjoy motor sport vehicles. Keep in mind that unlike an atv which generally carries only one passenger, you can have a lot of fun with one go kart and carry up to 4 and sometimes even 6 passengers.

Remember when driving an off road go kart to protect yourself by wearing an approved helmet for safety. in case of a severe accident this could save your life.

Proper Care and Maintenance of Your Motor Sport Vehicle

So you own a motor sport vehicle and you haven't taken it out for a month. This weekend is coming up and on Thursday you decide you want to take your vehicle out to the desert or the mountains for some fun and relaxation. You head out to the garage and guess what you find out? Not good.
Responsibility of taking care and maintaining your motor sport vehicle usually belongs to you the owner. So your ready for a fun weekend ahead and you find that there is a small puddle of oil underneath the engine compartment of your dirt bike, utility vehicle, off road go kart, atv, motorcycle or motor scooter. This has never happened before so if your not too mechanically inclined you either check it out and look at the owners manual for some answers or worst case scenario try to find a mechanic near by that knows what to do. Usually when something like this happens it is something minor but should not go neglected because it could lead to spending way more than necessary by taking care of a small problem before it turns into a large one. It could simply be a broken seal or something loose for that matter. What ever it is take care of it right away. So now you have the leak fixed and you go to start up the beast and it won't start. Since you haven't ridden it for a month, guess what, the battery is dead. One of the best ways to keep this from happening is to keep the battery connected to a trickle charger or some type of charger to keep it fully charged. There are different types that you can buy. These are available for as little as under $10.00 but I would recommend spending a bit more to get one that stops charging once the battery is at full charge so you do not over charge it and eventually ruin it's life expectancy. Most motor scooters, motorcycles, dirt bikes and atvs will run on a 6 volt battery. Utility vehicles and off road go karts could run on an even larger battery so make sure you are aware of the size, especially if you decide to jump start your battery from another vehicle. Be careful, as it is important that you read the instructions that come with your jumper cables so as not to cause damage to your battery and or physical harm to yourself. Thes are just a few tips on maintaining your motor sport vehicle. Next time we will discuss why you should clean you vehicle every time after a ride and how to keep it clean the easy way.
For those local or visiting Orange County, California, the desert and mountains are both within an hour of the county or less. Enjoy and be safe.

A Ride You Will Never Forget

My wife and I spent a week in Utah. We drove exactly, to the mile, 1400 miles round trip by motorcycle from Orange County, California where we live. We stayed in Brian Head during the late summer and went to 2 incredible places that you must see in your life time. I tell you this because there is different ways to travel, but probably the funnest is by motorcycle or motor scooter. Now I will tell you why. The 2 places we visited besides the beautiful city and surroundings of Brian Head were Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. Oh my gosh! Unbelievable beauty that unless you see it you wouldn'tbelieve that it's real. This is one of the most gorgeous sites we have ever seen. When you view it from a motorcycle or motor scooter it is twice the view.

Now you might be saying, I don't want to ride 1400 miles or however far it is from where you live. Well, that's why you have the option of loading your motorcycle or motor scooter in the back of a truck or trailer and haul it there and then take the incredible ride once you get there. I'm telling you, you will never forget it. The key is to go in the late summer time or early fall around October. Obviously check the weather before you go. Oh, by the way, what if you don't own a motorcycle or motor scooter. You can rent them very in expensively. Or if you are in the market for one they are great to own as they will save you lots of money on fuel, especially in today's economy. Make sure that you take along the proper equipment if you plan to transport your motorcycle or motor scooter. You will need a ramp for loading and unloading, tie downs to safely strap down your vehicle and a cover to keep it from getting weathered, scratched or dirty. Motor scooters by the way come in both gasoline powered and electric scooters. Keep in mind that the gas powered motor scooters can travel at higher speeds usually but both will go fast enough for your site seeing if you are transporting them from another location.

Pull up some pictures on the internet of Bryce and Zion and then plan out an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. You won't regret it.

What to Look for When Buying a Motor Sport Vehicle

If you are ready to venture out looking to purchase a motor sport vehicle there are several points to consider first. How important do you think it is to buy from a reliable source, whether it be a brick and mortar store or online may not make much difference. What can make a difference is how you are serviced once you have made your purchase. Items to consider would be the availabililty of someone to answer any questions you may have after you buy. Where can you take your vehicle for service or parts. How do you maintain your vehicle so that it will last a long time. These are just a few things to consider as a potential buyer before you purchase.
There is literally thousands of retail stores where you can buy a motor sport vehicle. You might be the type who likes to kick the tires before you buy or you might be someone who doesn't want to hassle having to travel all over and will purchase from a reliable source on the internet. Either way, as a consumer, everyone wants to make a smart choice when they buy. One item of importance to make sure you have when buying is long standing, quality customer service from the store you buy from. Make sure they back what they sell and are always available to answer your questions or help in any way they can. You want your experience of ownership to be a good one and your relationship with the store to be long lasting. If you have ever purchased a new car I',m sure you wanted to be well taken care of by the car dealer. The same goes for buying any motor sport vehicle. It is also beneficial if you are an avid outdoor rider and are looking for more than one kind of motor sport vehicle that you have somewhere to purchase that can not only take good care of you customer service wise bot also has a wide variety of different types of vehicles for sale. Maybe you are interested in a motor scooter, ATV or off road go kart. What if you like super pocket bikes, gas scooters or maybe you are into dirt bikes or how about a utility vehicle. If you have one source that handles all of these types of motor sport products it would make it much easier than running all over the place to buy what you are looking for.In today's economical situation it is, for some, difficult to make ends meet. The opportunity to save money is paramount for these times. A motor sport vehicle for street riding purposes can save a lot of money due to fuel economy. Motor scooters can get somtimes up to 100 miles to the gallon. Electric scooters, of course do not run on gasoline and can save you even more. One thing to consider between these two choices is the top speed you are looking for. You will find that motor scooters can reach speeds of up to 75 miles per hour or higher while an electric scooter will be substantially less as a top speed. In any case if you take into consideration how much you will save in fuel economy either one of these choices will pay for themselves in a very short time. All in all, whether you are a street rider or prefer an ATV, gas scooter, super pocket bike, dirt bike or utility vehicle, do your homework and buy from a quality reliable source that has your best interest at heart and remembers that you are number one when it comes to their business.Enjoy your shopping experience and always remember to be safe and protect yourself with proper safety gear when riding.

Keep It Safe When You Ride

There are 2 primary components that make owning and riding a motor scooter safe. The first one is pretty much a no brainer. Although several states require by law that you wear a helmet when you ride there are still several that do not. Even the ones that do don't regularly enforce wearing a D.O.T. approved helmet when you ride.

Let me tell you a quick story about a neighbor and friend of mine. It's short but I believe it gets the point across. He was getting ready to go out on a day ride on his motorcycle and had placed his quote, unquote novelty helmet on the handlebar of his bike. Well he didn't secure it very well and it fell off on to his cement driveway. This helmet by the way was less than a year old and he maybe had a 1000 miles on his motorcycle. Long story short the helmet cracked in half when it hit the pavement! can you imagine what would have happened to him had he gone down even going 20 or 25 miles an hour! Statistics prove as well that one of the first things that hit the ground in a motor scooter accident is your head. If you are not familiar with novelty helmets they are not approved by the department of transportation and therefore are not safe. The only reason people buy them is because they fit the head close and don't look so cumbersome. So people think they look a lot cooler. Guess what. It's not so cool when you end up in the hospital with major head injuries.
I'm not trying to scare anyone, I'm just stating that it makes lots of sense to be a safe motor scooter rider. It can be extremely fun and inexpensive to own a motor scooter so play it smart as well.
Last but not least wear clothes that will protect you and gloves so you won't get road rash if you do take a spill. Drive defensively and always always always anticipate that the other guy does not see you and you will make your ride much more enjoyable.
Thanks for taking time to read the blog and have a safe and fun ride.
